Example

Below the graph of the function $f(x)=x^2$ is given. This function has no maximum, but does have a minimum. The minimum location is $x=0$, because for all $x$ in the neighborhood of $x=0$ it holds that $f(x)\geq f(0)$. This minimum is $f(0)=0$.
