In Chapter 1 we considered functions of one variable and we learned how to differentiate these functions in Chapter 2. In this chapter we consider functions of two variables; we discuss several special classes. Subsequently, we show how we can show these functions in a (x,y)-coordinate system by the use of level curves. In Chapter 4 we learn how to differentiate functions of two variables.
